Better Lovers is the new band with members of cool bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Fit For An Autopsy, and Every Time I Die, and they are just as amazing!

The main reason I wanted to hit the Underoath tour show on July 14th at the Majestic Theatre in Detroit was to see this new band Better Lovers, comprised of singer Greg Puciato (ex-Dillinger Escape Plan), guitarist Will Putney (Fit for an Autopsy), and three ex-members of Every Time I Die: guitarist Jordan Buckley, drummer Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, and bassist Stephen Micciche.

They announced the formation of this band in a grande way with their “30 Under 13” video before the recent release of their debut four-song EP God Made Me An Animal. Anyone a fan of any of these musicians or their countless other bands were floored with the release and excitement ran rabid with their announcement of live shows, which included a few headline gigs along with their support of Underoath.

Catching what would be their third show ever in Detroit, me along with a vast majority of the crowd made sure to get inside of the Majestic Theatre for the 7:30pm set time of Better Lovers to see this new and exciting band! They delivered. My wig was all the way blown back by Better Lovers! The aura of the band was part “Thanks for coming early to see this new band of ours” mixed in with “Yes! This band is as cool as all of our other bands!”

Better Lovers felt like the best parts of Dillinger and Every Time I Die, and with Will Putney as your guitarist and one of the best metal producers alive today, this is a special project you do not want to miss. No matter if Better Lovers is a fleeting project or we get tons of projects from them, witnessing its infancy has been a sight to behold.
