Mini-Review: The Butcher of Paris #1
Based on a true story, The Butcher of Paris isn’t your normal story of Jews trying to escape the Nazi regime set in 1944 France, there’s a wild twist. A serial killer lurks as he uses the of those trying to escape as potential victims, but at the same time, the Nazis are trying to expose those helping people escape. Who is to trust to help you escape and who is leading you into the hands of this serial killer? The writer, Stephanie Phillips (who was a previous guest of the Fresh is the Word Podcast), is a bit of a nerd for random historical facts, so that is evident in this book. Her writing, along with the art by Dean Kotz and colors by Jason Wordie, takes you back into this era. It’s a historical true crime horror that is very captivating from the jump.
