Melvins play Saint Andrew’s Hall in Detroit on Twins of Evil Tour with Boris (Gallery)

Melvins at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit Twins of Evil Tour w/ Boris September 13th, 2023

On September 13th, the iconic rock titans, Melvins, brought their thunderous sonic prowess to Detroit’s Saint Andrews Hall, in a blistering collaboration with the Japanese metal maestros Boris, for their double headliner Twins of Evil Tour, where Boris plays their 2002 album Heavy Rocks in its entirety and Melvins play their Bullhead album plus other songs.

As fans already know, Melvins announced their drummer Dale Crover could not go on tour because he needed immediate emergency spinal surgery that will put him out of commission for months, so they were able to get Coady Willis (drummer also for Big Business, High On Fire, and Murder City Devils) to fill in for him.

And as their trooped on, the evening was nothing short of a sonic revelation as Melvins’ relentless, creating a seismic event that rattled the very foundations of the venue. Check out the photos below I took from the Melvins performance. The pictures from the Boris set are in a separate post.
