EPISODE #143: DANNY LORE – IN THIS EPISODE:

On Fresh is the Word, we like to deliver wisdom through great stories from the minds of bright creatives of pop culture. Through those stories, we like to dissect the journey of our guests and present actionable lessons and advice for our listeners no matter what career or avenue of artistry they pursue.

Our guest this episode is queer black comic book writer and editor Danny Lore. Raised in Harlem, but now Bronx-based, Danny Lore has worked in comic and gaming shops since the beginning of time. They have been an editor for comic book titles as THE GOOD FIGHT and THE WILDS as well as an acquiring editor for FIYAH Magazine. Their first creator-owned comic series, QUEEN OF BAD DREAMS will be published by Vault Comics starting this week!

During our chat, we talked about QUEEN OF BAD DREAMS, the comic book creator community, being an ally to marginalized communities, they’re upbringing in Harlem, blackness, gentrification, working on THE WILDS with Vita Ayala, having authenticity and the proper voices for characters in comics, and even some wrestling!

Each episode, the guest is asked to suggest someone from their life/career that should be on Fresh is the Word that would have good stories to tell. Danny Lore chose fellow comic book artist Emily Pearson from The Wilds, Snap Flash Hustle (Black Mask Studios), and Bonding (Vault Comics).
