EPISODE #187: Christina “Steenz” Stewart – IN THIS EPISODE:
On Fresh is the Word, we like to deliver wisdom through great stories from the minds of bright creatives of pop culture. Through those stories, I like to promote a diverse collection of voices that includes women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community within all creative fields.
The guest for this episode is Christina “Steenz” Stewart, St. Louis-based Eisner/Dwayne McDuffie Award winning cartoonist, comics editor and educator, and co-creator of the graphic novel Archival Quality. She also contributed to the music themed horror anthology Dead Beats released via A Wave Blue World.
Steenz shared her experience going to see the K-Pop group TWICE live in Chicago which turned into more talk about our favorite K-Pop groups and all the great music we listen to. She also shared her experience teaching comics and all the transferable skills that it actually has to other jobs and careers, along with diversity in all aspects of comic creation and the community.
Currently, she is offering her consultation and evaluation services for comic artists and writers. Head over to her Twitter account @oheysteenz for more information.
Steenz also created a special Spotify playlist for Fresh is the Word:
